About Me

Welcome to Saints 365! I am glad that you are here! My name is Debbie Gaudino.

Why Saints 365?
Saints 365 is my personal blog. Through it I hope to provide reflections designed to encourage others (and myself) to "strive for the heights of holiness in the trenches of everyday life." My writings draw from the living word of scriptures, the wisdom of the saints and the teachings of the church and are presented through the lens of my own personal experience.

Sharing the Journey
It is my hope that this blog can provide a place where we can all share our journey together and support each other as we live out the "universal call to holiness." I invite you to freely use the comment box to share your thoughts, experiences, suggestions and questions, always being mindful of St. Paul's words to the Thessalonians to "encourage one another and build one another up". (1 Thess 5:11)

A Little About Me
I am a child of God!  Through the gift of Baptism, I have been adopted into the family of the Holy Trinity.  This is my primary identity, and each day I discover more and more what that really means.

I am also a happily married (21 years), homeschooling Mom to two beautiful children (my son is 15 and my daughter is 13).  My husband and I were raised Catholic and had both fallen away from our faith for most of our young adult life.  We experienced a major conversion at a Mass celebrated by Blessed John Paul II in Rome in 2000.  Since then, our lives have been centered on knowing, loving and serving the Lord and his church.

I currently serve the Church as the Executive Director for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in the Diocese of Trenton (check us out here...) and teach Theology, History and Latin at our homeschool co-ops.  I am a Theology graduate student at Franciscan University of Steubenville.

Over the past dozen years, I have served the church in my local parish and diocese through leading and speaking at Women's Retreats, Adult Faith Formation Programs and Life in the Spirit Seminars. Check out my Speaking page for more info.

That's enough about me....please share who you are and how I can connect with you (your blog, Facebook, Twitter etc) in the comments box below.

  1. Hi Debbie,

I too am a returning Catholic and I really identified with your experience in 2000. I'm a mother of one (daughter is 12), and I am really looking at strengthening my relationship with God. I have subscribed and am looking forward to reading your posts xx

    God Bless,
    Alex

  2. Hi Debbie, I found your blog through Association of Catholic Women Bloggers where I sometimes post too. I check back often and wanted to recognize a few of the people whose blogs I really admire. I was recently awarded the Leibster Award by a fellow blogger and want to nominate you for it as well. If you're interested, you can find more information here: http://www.singlemomsmiling.com/liebster-award-thanks-boogers-yucky/
PS A while ago I read one of your posts on the importance of fathers. I tried to comment, but wasn't able to sign in with whatever I was using. As a single mom of 5 boys, your post inspired me to get Google+ and opened up new doors for me. I've blogged in secret for years but am still new to all the "marketing stuff" that goes with it. I have to go back and find the particular post that had such impact on me, but for now, I just want to say thank you.

    1. Hi Strahlen,
Thanks so much for your kind and encouraging words and for nominating me! That is exciting. I love your blog and your honesty and how much love and devotion you have for your boys! They are blessed to have you as their Mom!
I joined the Catholic Bloggers community on G+ and it has been a great source of fellowship, shared ideas, and encouragement to me as a new blogger - check it out if you haven't already. I have learned a lot from the people who are part of that group! God bless you! Debbie

  4. Hi Debbie,

I found my way over here from The Catholic Bloggers Network. I am always looking for inspiration and your blog is so beautiful, real, and encouraging. My little ones are just that, little and so I am only starting out on my journey of home education with them! I will be following for some inspiration and encouragement. I am an artist and I love to create...a few years ago I started a blog to chronicle some of my works and it has evolved with my growing family and now is focused a bit more on creativity geared for children. http://life-love-sacred-art.blogspot.com

  5. Hi, Debbie!
What a wonderful blog! I look forward to reading more of your posts (I commented on your most recent one about Mary, but for some reason Google kept choosing the wrong account for me. :-) Anyway, I'm kind of new to blogging, but if you'd like to check mine out, you'll find it at www.ourcatholicway.com. I intend to start a podcast soon. Is that something you've ever considered doing? ~ Kim Tisor

At Home With the Blessed Mother

Some of my most memorable childhood experiences took place in the kitchen with my Mom and Grandmother. In an Italian family (as, I suspect, in most families) the kitchen is mission-control - the place where all the action takes place. In our family, it was the place where meals were eaten, homework got done, tears were wiped, bruises tended to and corrections given. Even the fittings for my wedding dress took place with me standing precariously on top of my Grandmother's kitchen table while she pinned and re-pinned my dress until it was perfect. I can't even begin to count the lessons I learned spending day after day, year after year just living life alongside my Mom and my Grandmother, sharing my thoughts, hopes and dreams with them as I watched (and sometimes helped) them perform the most mundane household tasks. What I know for sure, is that watching and working alongside them helped form me to see the world through their eyes, with their unique perspective and point
